Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the role
We are seeking a passionate, values-driven Case Manager who is ready to make a real difference in the lives of women and children impacted by domestic and family violence.
In this deeply rewarding role, you will walk alongside women as they reclaim their safety, dignity, and independence. You will support them to lead their own journey, developing personalised case plans that reflect their strengths, needs, and aspirations. You’ll be their advocate, their ally—ensuring their rights are upheld and their voices truly heard.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Inner east Sydney, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5.

How you will make an impact
- Empower through connection: Build meaningful, respectful relationships that centre the voices of clients and foster self-determination, trust, and active participation.
- Provide trauma-informed care: Deliver high-quality case management using The Salvation Army’s trusted models and best practice standards, always grounded in empathy and professionalism.
- Respond with insight: Carry out thoughtful, ongoing assessments to understand each client’s unique needs, risks, and strengths—from first contact through to safe exit.
- Collaborate for change: Partner with clients to develop tailored case plans that support their individual goals and healing journeys, using a strengths-based and holistic approach.
- Walk beside, not ahead: Ensure clients remain actively engaged in every step of their case plan, fostering agency and genuine participation.
- Break down barriers: Help clients navigate and access essential services, while advocating strongly on their behalf when systems or structures fall short.
- Celebrate progress, adapt with care: Monitor and review case plan outcomes regularly, adjusting support as needed to ensure alignment with evolving goals and circumstances.
- Keep stories safe and systems strong: Maintain accurate, timely case notes and data using TSA systems, upholding confidentiality and integrity at every turn.
- Act early, act wisely: Identify potential risks to clients, colleagues, or services and escalate concerns promptly to protect everyone involved.
What you will bring
- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
- Relevant experience in a social service environment, specifically Family and Domestic Violence
- A national police record check
- Working with Children Check
- Participation in rotating on-call roster
- Attendance at sector interagency meetings and working groups
